Both Opto-MOSFET Relays and Solid State Relays refer to a contactless design. Unlike mechanical relays or reed relays, Bright Toward's Opto-MOSFET Relays or Solid State Relays use either a MOSFET or a Triac to switch on and off. This design avoids contact wear and theoretically extends the relay's life forever, as long as it is not over-driven by current or voltage.
